Bougain-Villa Lodge is a relaxed, rustic hideaway, wrapped in tropical charm and set within a lush garden just 200 metres from the beach. With only four unique villas, each offering its own layout and character, the lodge is perfectly suited to couples, families, and small groups looking for an easy-going coastal escape.
Life here moves at a gentler pace, shaped by salty air, warm days, and the simple pleasure of being close to nature. For those who prefer a more back-to-basics experience, our shaded campsites are tucked beneath leafy trees and designed for comfort without losing their natural feel. Campers enjoy access to shared kitchen and ablution facilities, along with electricity and water points, making it an ideal choice for nature lovers who appreciate simplicity, space, and a peaceful atmosphere.
Guests at Bougain-Villa Lodge also have access to a range of nearby activities and facilities. Fishing charters, team-building experiences, Limpopo River boat cruises, and seasonal whale watching offer memorable ways to explore the region. Our sister property, Reef Resort, features a restaurant open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a children’s playground and a newly built mini golf course — perfect for relaxed family days and laid-back evenings.
This year, we are proud to introduce our Bougain-Villa Lodge Volunteer Programme, designed for young adults and school leavers seeking purpose-driven travel. Volunteers can stay from one week to three months, living by the ocean while contributing to meaningful environmental and community projects. With accommodation, meals, activities, and transfers included, the programme offers a safe, supportive way to learn new skills, connect with local communities, and experience coastal Mozambique beyond the usual holiday — leaving with lasting memories and a genuine sense of impact.
